What to do in San Sebastián

 
Your time in San Sebastián del Oeste can be as calm and relaxing, or active and adventurous as you want it to be.  Below are some suggested sights to see, shopping, and activities to do, but just don't forget your camera - San Sebastián is truly a photographer's paradise.
 

ATV Rentals and Tours
Operated from the family convenience store, 'Abarrotes Duran', they have 10 all-terrain-vehicles available for rent. Each ATV fits 2 people and costs MN$200 pesos/hour to rent. Tours of the surrounding mines and towns are available.

Church of San Sebastián
Dedicated to the town’s patron, Saint Sebastián, the town's church was originally built in the 1600s but was rebuilt after an earthquake in 1868.
Doña Conchita's Museum
Learn about the town's history from doña Conchita in her small house / token museum. She has many stories and memorabilia from her descendants and the town's early days.

Located next to the basketball court adjacent to the main plaza.
Hacienda Jalisco Museum and Tour
Visit this historic 1840s era hacienda restored it to its original state.  It is a great look at life in Spanish colonial Mexico as it existed 150 years ago.
Located at the near the town's entrance by the airstrip.

Horse Rentals and Tours
There are 5 horses available for rent at Hostal D Cervantes. MN$100 pesos/hour with or without a tour guide.

La Bufa Tours
Take a tour of the town and the the look out point, 'La Bufa' ridge.
Just look for the green bus with a straw roof in the main square or ask anyone.
La Quinta, Cafe de Altura
Organic coffee grown and roasted locally by the Sanchez Alvarado family for 5 generations.
A good selection of roasts and flavors, as well as some local candies.

Pueblo Magico de Lupe Wulff
A magical store with hand made crafts from all over México. Climb the tiny staircase to the 2nd floor for more curios, and sit and enjoy some tamales and tequila overlooking the square.

Sierra Madre Art & Sweets
A collection local art, hand crafts, beverages, and sweets.
Thurs-Tues, 10am-6pm. Closed Wed.
